Inspiron Mini 9 Studio Hybrid

In the last couple of weeks, I have noticed that Dell has gotten all sorts of cute. Their Inspiron Mini and Studio Hybrid made me actually look at PCs again.

For the last couple of years, any PC I bought was a featureless tower bought on sale and destined to live in my rack as a headless Linux server. Like the horribly disfigured children they are, they were never to be talked about and surely never to be seen!

The Studio Hybrid was cute and cheap enough to question the Mac Mini. But the tipping point is that the Inspiron will ship for roughly $350 basic with Ubuntu Linux already installed. Finally! A small laptop that actually is supposed to work with Linux…AND it is even cheaper that way. And it isn’t even Christmas.

I can’t help but thinking that the Inspiron Mini in white just looks like the Nintendo DS’ all grown up.
