I work at Xdrive, which was acquired by AOL a while ago. We have had many ups and downs as part of AOL, and I can honestly say though that AOL is filled with many great people.

Okay back to the point, one of the nice things about AOL is they really support us being open and promoting open standards ( I Know!). So I am pleased to announce that we just launched our Open Xdrive API.

Anyone who knows me, knows about my perverse love/hate relationship with JavaScript, so it shouldn’t be any great surprise that we used JSON as our transport/serialization protocol. JSON deserves a whole posting in itself, but check out the API.

It is a free web service that allows programmatic access and usage of online storage. Hurray for free stuff!
